The verdict

First 5. After the cup I wanted another pot immediately, and I went to bed looking forward to drinking it in the morning. Chocolate, grain, spices, great acidity, delicious front to back, clean finish with no bitterness. French Press, about 25g to 400ml at 98°C, 1Zpresso #5, stirred, three minutes. Roasted a week before I bought it; I drank it over about four days.

What the roaster says

Aromas del Chirripó is a family mill on the slopes of Cerro Chirripó, Costa Rica's highest peak, founded by two generations of the Acuña family. Their farms División and Los Alpes cover 22 hectares between 1,450 and 2,000 metres and grow Caturra, Catuaí and Bourbon alongside Geisha, SL28, Java, Wush-Wush, Mibirizi and ET47. The mill processes with natural and honey methods. First export 2021.
